BAGHDAD: Iraqi ministry of oil will announce shortly 10-12 gas exploration sites within the fifth-bid round.

In a press conference, director general of contracts and licenses Abdul Mehdi al-Amidi said that the ministry began preparing for the fifth bid a month ago to determine the gas exploration sites.

The sites shall be on the western site of the county from the north to the south.

The ministry announced last March the development of 12 sites, including seven for gas exploration and five for oil.

The sites were divided on ten provinces in Ninewa, Anbar, Najaf, Diwaniya, Babel, Muthana, Diala, Wassit, Basra and Thi Qar.
