Muscat - Adding yet another exclusive product to its wide ranging Excel Credit Card line-up, Bank Sohar, launched its all-new Excel Visa Signature Credit Cards. This new credit card is introduced as a premier card and is positioned alongside the Bank’s Excel Platinum Credit Card and Excel Diamond Infinite Credit Card; offering its users a wide range of exclusive benefits, offers and personalised services. The Card was launched at a press conference held at the Grand Hyatt Muscat, on March 28, 2017.
Representing Bank Sohar at the event were Mr. Sasi Kumar, Acting CEO, Ms. Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM of HR and Corporate Support, Mr. Khamis Masoud Al Rahbi, Senior AGM and Acting Head of Retail Banking Mr. Mazin Mahmood Al Raisi, Sr. AGM and Head of Marketing and Customer Experience and Ms. Vlada Shmatchenko, Head – Card Center at Bank Sohar. Other Senior Managers, together with Regional and Branch Managers, and members of the Bank’s retail team, also attended the launch press conference.
The conference commenced with a welcome speech; following which the gathered media professionals and customers, followed by a comprehensive overview of the exclusive features of the new card was provided by Ms. Thuraya Al Hashmi. Following the presentation, nine loyal customers were called on stage and Mr. Sasi Kumar presented them with their exclusive Excel Visa Signature Credit Cards.

The new Bank Sohar Excel Visa Signature Credit Card is totally unique in Oman as it’s the first transparent card in the country. Customers get a 12 per cent introductory interest rate and no annual fee for the first year. The card also comes with other exclusive benefits such as complementary international medical and travel assistance for Schengen and other visa applications; a three, six or twelve month Interactive Easy Payment plan with 0% interest and an easy choice of monthly installment repayment.
“This new premier credit card slots in between our Excel Platinum Credit Card and Excel Diamond Infinite Credit Card and is aimed at our High Net Worth customers. It also features a unique design and offers its users a range of unique benefits that perfectly complement its status as a highly desirable and exclusive credit card product,” said Mr. Khamis Masoud Al Rahbi.
The new Excel Visa Signature Credit Card’s range of exclusive benefits include Priority Pass for the customer and two guests to more than 1000 airport lounges worldwide, in addition to exclusive fine dining and shopping discounts and offers throughout the year. Moreover, customers using this card will be provided with personalised service through the Bank’s Privilege Banking Unit.
Bank Sohar Cards Loyalty Program- ‘Mukaaf’aat Al Mumayaz’, previously available only through the Bank’s Excel Platinum Credit Card and Excel Diamond Infinite Credit Cards, can also be availed through purchases made on the Excel Visa Signature Credit Cards. This program allows card holders to accumulate one point for every OMR 2 spent using their credit cards. As a complimentary introductory offer, 3,000 points will be included on all newly issued cards.
