Marine and offshore engineering consultancy Aqualis Offshore has appointed Ben Lazenby as director of the company's Middle East operation, which now counts five offices in four different countries.

Ben Lazenby succeeds Reuben Segal, who will now concentrate fully on his role as chief operating officer of Aqualis Offshore.

Ben Lazenby is a master mariner with 25 years' experience in the maritime offshore industry. His specialist areas of competence are marine operations, rig moving and marine warranty. He has conducted more than 300 rig moves as tow master or marine warranty surveyor. Ben Lazenby is promoted to the role of director - Middle East from his current position as regional marine director for Aqualis Offshore in Dubai.

Ben Lazenby will be based out of Aqualis Offshore's regional headquarters in Dubai, UAE. In addition, he will oversee the operations of the company's other offices in the region: Abu Dhabi, UAE; Manama, Bahrain; Doha, Qatar; and Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Aqualis Offshore is a specialised marine and offshore engineering consultancy focusing on the shallow and deep-water offshore segments of the offshore oil and gas industry. The company is part of Oslo-listed Aqualis ASA. Its core services includes concept, FEED and basic design engineering for upgrades and conversions of jack-ups, rigs and other fixed offshore installations, rig moving, marine warranty, dynamic positioning and construction supervision services.
