The first-of-its-kind service in the UAE utilizes Smart Government technology to issue credit cards in 15 minutes

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Majid Al Futtaim Finance, the financial arm of Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, today launches instant issue Najm Credit Cards inside Carrefour Hypermarkets across the UAE.

The new service, a first-of-its kind in a retail store within the UAE, allows prospective card members the ability to walk into a Carrefour Hypermarket and within 15 minutes be issued a Najm Credit Card that can be instantly used to earn cashback and benefit from in-store offers.

The process requires minimal paperwork and utilizes the UAE’s Smart Government initiatives, taking applicant’s information from their Emirates ID card and securely transmitting it to the Al Etihad Credit Bureau for scoring.

Addressing media on what was identified as an opportunity to increase the customer experience, Chief Executive Officer at Najm, Rasool Hujair commented on the new service, “We are laser focused on our customer experience at all phases in the journey, and on-boarding new customers is an area we identified that we could significantly improve with this new offering.”

He went on to say, “Why should our customers have to wait for a card to be sent to them? By offering instantly issued cards right in the store, right where it is relevant to them, they can take advantage of in store promotions, receive an additional 10 percent cashback, use our dedicated Najm checkout counters and avail our Easy Payment Plans (EPP) without waiting days to receive their card. We believe this new service enhances our customer experience and delivers on our promise that Najm is the ‘Smartest Way to Save in Carrefour’.”

Instant Issuance is facilitated through Najm sales agents and at the Najm customer service desk in 13 Carrefour Hypermarkets, with plans to expand this service to more locations throughout the year.
