Muscat - Majan electricity Company - Part of Nama Group- has signed 9 agreements last Thursday for different projects, which include establishing a new station, the expansion of existing stations and the development of an integrated supply station in the different Wilayas that are covered in the company's distribution network in the North Batina region as well as Al Dhahirah and Al Buraimi.

The first tender includes setting up a station in the city center of Al Buraimi with 2 feeders and land cables, with the tender valued at OMR 922,560. While the second tender is for building a substation in Al Jafrah with the capacity of capacity of (2x20KVA) in North Batinah valued at OMR 949,630. The third tender is to build Al Mukhailif 2 substation in the north of Al Batinah with the capacity of (2x20KVA) valued at OMR 825,075. The third tender is for building the Saham Substation with the capacity of (2x20KVA) valued at OMR 37,760. The tenders will be carried out by civil contracting companies.

Two tenders have been signed for the expansion of the Wadi Habib station from (6x2) to (10x2) in North Batinah for 761,500, and the tender to build the Humbar station with the capacity of (3x20 KVA) in North Al Batinah for OMR 1.170Mn which will be conducted by Al Jood Contracting represented by Hamdan Al Saadi, Administrative Affairs Manager. The seventh tender to expand the Hajramat substation to the capacity of (10x2 KVA) in Al Dahirah region valued at OMR 846,846 which is to be conducted by United Engineering Projects, while the eighth tender carried out by Horizon Manufacturers Trading is to expand the Buraimi substation from the capacity of (6x2 KVA) with the value of OMR 645,000 while Al Murad International signed an agreement to port 22 stations with the capacity of (1000 KVA) and 20 (500 KVA) to extend the network in the North of Al Batinah for OMR 474,240.

Eng. Abdullah Al Hashmi, Chairman of the board of directors at Majan Electricity Company, stated that "These projects are a part of the company's efforts to expand the electrical network due to the expanding demand of electricity, which represents the growth of the country on both economical and demographical scales. This is why we have put in clauses ensuring the strict deadlines as well as the compliance with HSE standards, as this is one of the key pillars of the tenders and we hope that the plans will carry on in a timely manner under these conditions without delays".

Eng. Abdullah Al Nawfali, Acting CEO of Majan Electricity Company, stated that the projects of building and establishing new stations in the different areas shows the excellence of Majan Electricity Company to keep up with the increased demand on the electrical grid, and that these projects are to be completed before the summer of 2016. He also stated that the companies charged with these projects have been informed of the importance of quality management and time importance while maintaining the HSE codes.
 
Eng. Mohammed Al Abri, Senior Manager pf Project Management at Majan Electricity Company, stated that the company does many different projects to build substations with the capacity of 11/33 in the different areas that fall under the company's jurisdiction. "These projects are the essential backbone of creating an infrastructure and keeping up with the increased demand in the different areas, this in term will create a higher quality of supply and reduce the outages. These projects are a part of a bigger overall plan that the company has will be implementing for 2015/2016"
