DUBAI, 13th March, 2017 (WAM) -- Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (EMPOWER) has revealed that the number of buildings using its district cooling services across the Emirate of Dubai has reached 920 in 2016, an increase of 13.6 percent Year on Year (YoY) 2015 .

According to Empower, there are many reasons behind this increase; one of which is the increase in new projects using the companys services last year, as well as the increase in its operational capacity. Moreover, more clients including building owners and developers prefer district cooling services over the conventional cooling systems.

"District cooling service represents the future of the chilling services in the world. During the coming years, we will see more building owners and developers converting from conventional chilling methods to district cooling, not only in Dubai and the UAE, but also globally. The international real estate industry now requires efficient, affordable and eco-friendly cooling services," said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

"We expect to register more growth and to maximise the coverage of the services to reach a whole new set of buildings in the coming years. The clients are now more aware of the efficiency of Empowers services. We always receive requests from building owners to convert into the district cooling systems. We at Empower are technically and practically well-prepared to meet the future requirements by increase in number of buildings we have to serve," he added.
