DUBAI, 29th May, 2017 (WAM) -- The Emirates Islamic Bank, in line with the #Year of Giving initiatives, has contributed AED300,000 to the Islamic Information Centre, a leading arm of the Dar Al Ber Society.
The gesture, for the second year in a row, is aimed at helping the Islamic Centre to promote the tolerant culture of Islam and give due care to new converts, according to a senior official. Paying tribute to the move, the centre manager, Rashid Al Junaibi, said that it would give a boost to the activities of the centre and its cultural and preaching activities and programmes."The centre organised 982 specialised lectures on an array of religious, social, and cultural issues in the first quarter of the year while 234,000 brochures in different languages were distributed across the country," he said.
"The centre saw the conversion of 25 people from different nationalities," he continued, saying, "This is mainly due to the good treatment they receive in the tolerant and compassionate Emirati society." Al Junaibi pointed out that the centre runs a variety of indoor and outdoor activities and events, on top of which is the Umrah' programme, which is meant to enlighten new Muslims and make them happy. "This year so far, up to 88 new Muslims have been sent on an Umrah trip to the Holy lands in Makkah and Madinah in collaboration with Dar Al Ber Society, Dubai Courts, and Sharjah Charity Association."Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2017.
