- 12,000 chambers of commerce from more than 100 countries participating in WCC 2017

- Delegation participates in key sessions and meetings held on the sidelines of the global event

Dubai, UAE: A high-level delegation from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is participating in various activities at the 10th World Chambers Congress (WCC) in Sydney this week with the aim of promoting Dubai as an attractive business hub and expanding the Chamber’s global network.

H.E Hamad Buamim President and CEO of Dubai Chamber and Deputy Chairman of the Paris-based World Chambers Federation (WCF) - International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), attended a meeting convened by the WCF General Council on Monday.

On the second day of the Congress, Dubai Chamber’s President and CEO will be speaking on the theme of “Global Mobility” and presenting new research commissioned by the Chamber on the Economic Impacts of Educated and Skilled Migrants during a plenary session.

Mr. Atiq Juma Nasib, Senior Vice President of Commercial Services at the Chamber, participated several meetings organised by special committees and task forces ahead of the Congress focusing on ATA Carnets and international certificates of origin.  

Mr. Khalil Haddad, Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at Dubai Chamber, is scheduled to speak at a session on “Changing Chamber Business Models”, while Mr. Hassan Al Hashemi, Dubai Chamber’s Director of International Relations, will provide an overview of Dubai’s economic landscape and growth prospects during a special session on Expo 2020 Dubai on the last day of the event.

Dubai Chamber is a Platinum Sponsor of WCC 2017, which is being held under the theme “Sydney – Where Business Connects”.  The Chamber will be showcasing its services, facilities and initiatives at its pavilion during the event, in addition to informing delegates about the advantages of doing business in Dubai.

The final day of the conference will host a special ceremony honouring the winners of the 2017 World Congress Competition. Dubai Chamber was nominated in the category of Best Unconventional Project for the Dubai Innovation Index, which has become an important tool for evaluating and measuring innovation output in the emirate’s private sector.

The 10th World Chambers Congress is bringing together delegates representing 12,000 chambers of commerce from over 100 countries. The premier event, which is being held September 19th-21st, will cover a variety of themes and issues, including strengthening cooperation between business communities, and existing challenges faced by chambers of commerce, as well as opportunities and solutions that can transform the future of business and global trade.
