MANAMA: A strong warning has been issued to Bahrain’s Haj operators taking thousands of pilgrims across the border next week.

Bahrain’s Consulate in Jeddah has called upon authorised Haj operators to abide by all regulations and instructions issued by the Saudi Haj and Umrah Ministry and the Bahrain Haj Mission.It has also urged pilgrims to follow all guidelines and health instructions before travelling to Saudi Arabia.

“Operators should have the necessary vehicles’ permits to travel by road inside Saudi Arabia and should get official Haj permissions to avoid legal penalties,” said Bahrain’s Consul General Ibrahim Mohammed Al Meslimani.

“Operators who are not licensed will not be allowed and the administrative staff will not be allowed to perform Haj.”Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Haj Medical Mission, consisting of around 45 members, will travel for Mecca in two groups.

“The medical mission consists of two groups, from the Health Ministry and from the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry,” a spokesman said.“The first group will leave on Friday and the second on Tuesday.
