DUBAI, 14th June, 2017 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and Patron of the Foundation, has supported the student fund of the Higher Colleges of Technology, HCT, Dubai Colleges with a donation of AED600,000.

This donation aims to support the colleges efforts to fulfil the needs of students, support their academic journey and promote their success and capacities to overcome any challenges facing their academic learning.

Mirza Al Sayegh, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Al Maktoum Foundation and Director of the Office of H.H. The Crown Prince of Dubai, delivered the cheque to Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Director of HCT, while in the presence of Dr. Tarifa Al Zaabi, Director of the HCT-Dubai Womens College.

Al Sayegh conveyed the greetings of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid to the administration of the HCT while highlighting the importance of these colleges as the largest higher education institution in the country, and a major source of qualified human resources for the national labour market.

He added that the desire of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan to allocate money to support the HCT student fund is to enable the colleges to fulfil the needs of students and successfully accomplish their academic mission. He also highlighted that this is their sixth year of supporting HCT students.

Dr. Al Shamsi expressed his appreciation to the Crown Prince of Dubai for this initiative while praising the Al Maktoum Foundation's role in supporting students.
