Dubai

The Dubai Building Maintenance Show will be held on May 10 at Dusit Thani Dubai to discuss key elements and opportunities in regulations, fire safety, and building efficiency.

The event provides an opportunity to gather insights from industry leaders including IBM, Emirates Green Building Council, Regulatory and Supervisory Bureau, and KEO International Consultants, among others.

The event comes as facility managers in the industry try to evolve beyond conventional management and maintenance strategies towards a more automated approach, focusing on Internet of Things (IoT) for predictive and preventive maintenance to improve a building’s life cycle.

Among the key speakers at the event will be Hani Hadi, a Watson IoT Solutions Leader, of IBM and he will be presenting a headline session on IoT providing a cognitive approach in building asset maintenance. Cognitive computing would allow building managers to use that data to optimise the experience of occupants, staff, and management.

Also speaking will be Bashar Kassab, Director of Facilities Management at Burj Khalifa, who will shed light on digitising facilities management and energy-centred maintenance of the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall.
