SHARJAH, 15th January, 2017 (WAM)--The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, SEWA, has honoured Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, on Sunday by naming her the Personality of the Month for January, in recognition to her outstanding humanitarian, charitable and social initiatives.
Eng. Dr. Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of SEWA, presented the shield and the honorary certificate to Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi. Commenting on the occasion, Sheikha Lubna said it was a matter of pride to receive the honour, and cited the efforts made by the SEWA to serve the community through innovative initiatives. "Each individual in society has a duty towards the nation to help the needy, instilling patriotism and the love for charity in children, so that they can be the initiators of community service," she said. Sheikha Lubna stressed the importance of partnerships between the government agencies and the private sector in launching community initiatives, and the responsibility of the nation towards humanity worldwide. Al Leem maintained that Sheikha Lubna was chosen as the Personality of the Month for January because of her distinguished humanitarian contributions and initiatives, as well as her efforts to promote tolerance among different groups in society.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2017.
