Cairo – Mubasher: The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) has appointed Abdalla ElEbiary as the chief investment officer (CIO).

“Attracting accomplished industry professionals, such as Abdalla, from the investment sector only bodes well for the Fund’s future, its ability to attract top talent from the market and its mandate to implement sound market-based investment management strategies,” TSFE’s CEO Ayman Soliman said in a statement on Monday.

Previously, ElEbiary served as managing director at the leading investment firm Qalaa Holdings for 14 years, leading several investment and divestiture transactions in the sectors of river transport, logistics, consumer goods, and cement.

He managed the acquisition and divestiture of Misr Cement Qena, the funding and divestiture of ASEC Minya Cement / ASEC Ready Mix, and the acquisition of Rashidi ElMizan.
