Zayed University Council held its third meeting for the year 2021, chaired by Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, President of Zayed University, at the Convention Center at the University Campus in Dubai to review a number of topics on its agenda.

The council discussed relevant topics and approved the implementation of several administrative and academic recommendations which aim at raising the level of education and research to meet national objectives. The attendees discussed the academic policies approved by the Academic Affairs Committee, in addition to updating the policies related to financial aid services made available to university students. The Council also approving the conferring of Master’s degrees for graduates during the period February 22, 2021 - May 31, 2021, and approved the University President’s decrees in regards to the ZU academic calendar of 2021-2022.

The members of the Council were briefed on updates concerning academic courses and student affairs, as well as reviewed strategical implementations of the overall institutional transformation. Members have also discussed policies and procedures related to the implementation of interdisciplinary education and hybrid learning, which would enhance readiness for future changes, by adopting the highest technical standards in its educational system in order to qualify students to achieve cutting edge know how, that will take them beyond common boundaries and become leaders in the future.

The meeting was attended by members of the University Council, Her Excellency Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Technology and Vice President of the University Council, Her Excellency Maryam Saeed Ghobash, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Investment Company, Her Excellency Shatha Al Hashemi, Advisor, Executive Consultation Unit, Prime Minister’s Office, Her Excellency Mozah Ibrahim Mohammed Al Akraf Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Community Development, His Excellency Humaid Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), Mr. Saeed Sultan Al Dhaheri, businessman, Hassan Al Najjar, Entrepreneur and Founder of InFocus Media, Ben Nelson, Founder and CEO of Minerva Project, and Richard Holman, Dean of Interdisciplinary College.
