UMM AL-QUWAIN, 29th March 2017, (WAM) -- The Board of Directors of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme has today confirmed the names of 915 deserving citizens who were awarded housing support with a total value of AED590 million.

The confirmation of the names of people who were deemed to deserve the award comes as an execution of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the monitoring of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The programmes board of directors held its second meeting for 2017, headed by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Board of the Programme, at the site of the Umm Al-Quwain Housing Complex Project at Shuhada City (Martyrs City) in the emirate of Umm Al-Quwain.

"The members of the board of directors held their meeting at the Umm Al-Quwain Housing Complex Project at Shuhada City, with the aim to follow up the work of the programme in the real world and to inspect it closely, highlighting that the leadership of the country gave all its attention for the happiness and welfare of its children, through modern and sustainable housing projects that answer their needs and provide for their stability and happiness," Dr. Al Nuaimi said.

He added that the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme confirms the names of those deserving housing support on a monthly basis, in line with the strategic goals of the programme to answer the current and future housing needs of citizens and to provide and develop a sustainable and innovative housing environment that exceeds their expectations.

The housing support was distributed between 537 loans and 122 residential grants, spread out between 594 in the new building category, 41 in the housing completions category, eight in the housing maintenance category, 12 in the housing purchase category, 43 in the public housing category, 16 in the additional and expansion housing category, and 24 in the additional housing category.
