The Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry holds the future and will have a positive impact on society and businesses, a top government official and experts said at the Artelligence - the Artificial Intelligence Forum on Wednesday.

Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, UAE's Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, said AI is evolving and it will help generate new types of jobs that don't exist today.

"The social element is going to be key driver for the job market in the coming years," Al Olama said at the two-day forum hosted by Khaleej Times in partnership with MITSloan Management Review GCC.

Mohammad Galadari, Executive Committee Member and Director, Galadari Brothers, and Hesham Khoory, Director, Galadari Brothers, presented a memento to the minister.

"Next era is going to bring jobs that don't exist today and those jobs that we don't understand today. But, we do know that there is need to be more agile and proactive," the minister said at the forum.

"Add Artificial Intelligence to every single sector, and you will find successful model that is going to change the world. We need to work together to make sure that AI impacts us positively," he added.

Industry executives said AI should not be used just for the sake of it, but for the benefit of society. "AI is there not just only for the sake of AI, but to benefit all of us, the entire society. AI should be used to replace boring jobs and instead allow people to do interesting jobs," said James Dening, vice-president for Europe at Automation Anywhere.
