Emaars Dubai hotel revamp work nearing completion

SSH, a leading masterplanning, infrastructure, building design company in the Middle East region, said it is close to completing the full refurbishment of Emaar Properties' prestigious hotel, Address Dubai Mall, in Downtown Dubai.

Linked directly to The Dubai Mall, the world’s most-visited retail and lifestyle destination, the hotel’s initial design was delivered in March 2017 by Meyer Davis Studio, New York.

Emaar then roped in SSH to formulate a proposed design to meet its budget and timeline constraints in a two-phase programme.

This included a three months' full shutdown of public areas and partial guestroom refurbishment and a three-month partial shutdown to complete guestroom upgrade floor-by-floor, said a statement from SSH.

The premium luxurious property had already reopened last year following the Phase One launch of the revitalised and renewed design and now the final phase was drawing to a close, it stated.

SSH said its interior design division is responsible for the refurbishment of public areas, guestrooms and suites, delivering detailed design and IFC documentation, while co-ordinating with the client and project consultants, and carrying out local sourcing of materials and value engineering.

The scope of service encompasses the public areas: Level 1 – Porte cochere, arrival lobby, reception lobby and lobby lounge; Level 2 – ballroom, pre-function and meeting rooms; Level 3 – business centre and meeting rooms and guestrooms and Levels 4 to 15 – 243 keys plus club lounge.
