InterContinental Abu Dhabi has announced the appointed Neil Houghton, an industry veteran, as its new general manager to manage overall hotel operations for the award-winning hotel located in the heart of Abu Dhabi.

Originally from the UK, Houghton brings more than 30 years of leadership in the hospitality industry, 20 years of which have been with IHG as general manager. 

Houghton's most recent general manager position was at InterContinental Hotel Shanghai Pudong and prior to that, he was the general manager at InterContinental Hotel Kunming and Crowne Plaza Shenzhen and InterContinental Golf Resort & Spa Fiji.

In his new role, Houghton will undertake strategic responsibility as general manager of InterContinental Abu Dhabi by overseeing all hotel activity, ensuring the hotel’s exceptional standards are exceeded and creating a welcoming community for guests, guaranteeing customer satisfaction and the ongoing superior service InterContinental Abu Dhabi is renowned for.
