ArabFinance: The first phase of utility developments at Egypt’ New Administrative Capital (NAC) is expected to be fully executed before the end of September, Ahram Gate cited Sayed Ismail, new deputy minister of housing for infrastructure affairs.

The undergoing infrastructure projects include drinking water, wastewater and sanitation, and irrigation.

Officials said last May that construction at NAC was at full steam despite Egypt’s stumbling economy due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The relocation of government offices has been put on hold until 2021, as directed by President Abdel Fattah el Sisi.

Last year, the New Urban Communities Authority assigned contracting companies to begin building the required infrastructure for NAC’s Green River project.
