Cairo – Mubasher: Assuit Oil Refining Company (ASORC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (ENPPI) and Petroleum Projects & Technical Consultations Company (PETROJET) to establish a new atmospheric distillation unit at Assiut oil refinery with an investment cost of EGP 6 billion.

The new project has a designed capacity of 5 million tonnes of crude oil per year, which will help maintain the operation of new and future projects as part of the continuous expansions of the refinery which provides oil supplies to the Upper Egypt region, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources on Tuesday.

The consortium, comprised of ENPPI and PETROJET, will act as the main contractor for the implementation of the project on a turnkey basis.
