BEIRUT: Protesters blocked roads all over Lebanon for the fourth consecutive day Friday as anger mounted over the terrible living conditions in the crises-stricken country.

A highway leading to the northern city of Tripoli was closed by demonstrators, in addition to the Al-Nour Square and other roads in the city as they burned tires and gathered in front of politicians' residences in the impoverished city including billionaire MP and former Prime Minister Najib Mikati's and MP Samir Jisr's homes.

The roads near Beirut Sports City were also blocked, as was the road near the Kuwaiti Embassy in Ramlet al-Baida, in addition to the Ring Bridge in central Beirut.

More blocked roads with burning tires included the Chevrolet intersection in Furn al-Shubbak and the road in Jiyye leading to the capital.

In Sidon, protesters blocked multiple roads including the Elia intersection and the intersection near the Spinneys supermarket in Sidon where they tried attacking customers as the Army intervened.

The protests come after the Lebanese pound fell back to LL10,000 against dollar after initially declining to that level earlier this week, triggering the countrywide road closures.
