ArabFinance: Car sales in Egypt registered an annual increase of 49% to total 20,713 vehicles in January, Al Mal News cited an Automotive Manufacturing Information Council (AMIC) report on February 28th.

The market witnessed the sale of 13,873 cars in January 2020.

About 14,900 passenger cars were sold last month, marking a 71% leap compared with 8,700 in January last year.

Truck sales increased by 50% Year on Year to 3,700 units in January this year from 2,500.

A total of 1,900 buses were sold last month, lower by 23% from 2,500 vehicles in January 2020.

In November 2020, more than 20,500 passenger cars were sold. This underpinned the recovery from the COVID-19 crisis as the volume came 67% Year on Year higher than 12,300.
