Mubadala Petroleum has appointed Mansoor Mohamed Al Hamed as chief executive officer.

He succeeds Bakheet Al Katheeri, who was recently appointed to an executive leadership position in the newly formed UAE Investments platform of Mubadala, the company said in a statement Wednesday.

Al Hamed was previously responsible for new business development and mergers & acquisitions. He has over 15 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry.

Al Hamed holds a BSc degree in Business Administration from the American University in Dubai and two MSc degrees from Abu Dhabi University and National Defense College in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi -based Mubadala Petroleum is an international oil and gas exploration and production company and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company.
