Dubai – Mubasher: Petrochemical companies operating in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) have generated trade worth AED 16 billion ($4.36 billion) in 2017.

“Creating better supply chains depends on industry collaboration and sharing of knowledge to help the sector identify and resolve inefficiency. Real-time data is now the norm and the need for collaboration grows as well,” commented DP World Group chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem.

He added that Jafza’s trade value and volume reinforces the UAE’s economy.

Home to 526 petrochemical firms from 67 countries, Jafza is will be showcasing the sector’s services at the 10th GPCA Supply Chain Conference in Dubai.

“Recent studies suggest that more than 80% of organisations globally agree that increasing collaboration with internal and external stakeholders can drive bottom-line results and reduce costs in the supply chain,” a statement released by Jafza indicated.

The 10th GPCA Supply Chain Conference is set to feature topics such as: current global trends, technology disruption, collaboration, business optimisation, procurement and organisational culture with case studies from around the world.
