Dubai, UAE – Dubai Airports, Chevrolet Middle East and Al Ghandi Auto today announced that the Bolt EV has joined the Dubai Airports’ support vehicle fleet as that company strives to further limit its environmental footprint. Hailed for its unprecedented driving range of up to 520* kilometres on a single charge, the Chevrolet Bolt EV is the perfect vehicle for the job.

Supporting Dubai Airports at Dubai International (DXB) which remains the world’s busiest international airport, the Chevrolet Bolt EV will transport teams on the airports roadways to facilitate a range of airside tasks, from airfield maintenance to traffic management to runway and taxiway inspections.

John Roth, President and Managing Director of General Motors Middle East and Africa said: “Boasting all the environmental benefits of an EV, the Chevrolet Bolt EV remains a game changer in its segment promising class-leading range and the practicality of a conventional vehicle. A key driver in the region’s motoring landscape, General Motors’ alternate propulsion efforts, spearheaded by the Chevrolet Bolt EV, fall in line with the Dubai Government’s vision for more sustainable and smarter mobility solutions.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports added: “Our partnership with Chevrolet is in line with our continued efforts to contribute to Dubai’s green initiatives. The addition of the Chevrolet Bolt EV to our support vehicle fleet will go a long way in increasing awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles while further cementing our alignment our push for environmentally responsible mobility solutions. We are constantly looking for greater efficiencies across all our operations and this partnership was a natural next step in this direction.”

General Motors is charging boldly towards its vision of a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion, and the Chevrolet Bolt EV is just the first step towards achieving that vision that is well-aligned with that of the UAE government.

Mark Jenkins, CEO of Al Ghandi Auto, one of Chevrolet’s official dealers in the UAE, also commented: “The fact that Dubai Airport leadership picked the Chevrolet Bolt EV to be part of their support fleet speaks volumes about the car’s credentials. We are confident that the Chevrolet Bolt EV will rise to the challenge and exceed the operational requirements of one of the busiest airports in the world.”
