The International Energy Agency will publish a new report on Iraq’s energy sector on Thursday, 25 April 2019. Iraq is one of the world's biggest energy producers. Iraq’s Energy Sector: A Roadmap to a Brighter Future provides an in-depth analysis of the problems affecting Iraq’s electricity sector, which have caused repeated power outages, and offers recommendations for how to address the situation, including the potential role of renewables. It also takes a detailed look at the country’s oil industry and its prospects for the next decade. The report is the IEA’s first in-depth analysis of Iraq’s energy sector since 2012. Copies of the report will be made available under embargo to journalists. Please email us at press@iea.org  if you wish to receive a copy of the report under embargo. Please note that the report and any related materials are under embargo until 1:00 AM Paris time (midnight in London) on Thursday, 25 April 2019.
