Riyadh  – Ahead of its inaugural 2022 event, World Defense Show has confirmed its participation, as part of the KSA Pavilion at IDEX Abu Dhabi, between 21-25 February 2021. The local and international executive team will be on ground at the World Defense Show stand (Hall 9; C27) throughout the trade show days, unveiling show developments and connecting visitors with exhibition options and partnership opportunities.

Founded by General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), World Defense Show will serve as a global platform for interoperable defense capabilities across all five domains: land, sea, air, security, and satellite. The world-class event is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, between 6-9 March 2022, and held every two years thereafter in the presence of Saudi Arabia’s key leadership, international delegations and industry leaders, addressing global trends that will shape the future of defense.

Commenting on the World Defense Show’s participation in IDEX, GAMI Governor, His Excellency Ahmad Al-Ohali stated: “Saudi Arabia plays an integral role in the global defense ecosystem, and through the founding of World Defense Show we intend to bring the global defense industry together with our growing ambitions, creating opportunities at every level in the defense value chain. Under the Vision 2030 objective to localize up to 50% of national military expenditure, World Defense Show will be a catalyst for the local industry as the Kingdom continues to drive innovation, invest in change, and help shape the future of defense. We look forward to connecting with industry players at IDEX and advancing collaboration with existing and potential partners.”

Shaun Ormrod, Chief Executive Officer, World Defense Show, added: “We are excited to introduce World Defense Show as the global stage for defense interoperability, promoting trade and innovation in the sector. Through tailored networking programs, set to feature delegations, governments, supply chain and investors, this show will offer unmissable opportunities for the industry. It is our mission to present the best meeting environment for our multinational customers across all defense domains and markets. We look forward to engaging with Primes and SMEs at IDEX as we unveil exciting show developments surrounding the bespoke venue and strategic partnerships.”

As technological advancements continue to generate multi-faceted defense needs, which place interoperability at the forefront of the industry, World Defense Show’s presence at IDEX is timely. The executive team will offer insights into the show’s unique features and programs and discuss a host of participating opportunities. World Defense Show is a pioneering event, facilitating industry-wide connections and collaboration. The show aims to tackle future global challenges to enable the next generation of defense solutions through systems integration.
