The total number of expatriate employees at the Health Ministry has reached 1,781, including 1,760 health professionals, 11 technicians, seven engineers and three advisers, while 44 are recruited on a temporary basis, head of parliamentary probe committee in charge of investigating Bahrainisation of jobs, Ibrahim Al Nafea, told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry employs 535 expatriates. The committee will hold a meeting with health and works ministers tomorrow to discuss their ministries’ strategies to replace expatriates with Bahrainis.

It will also review the Health Ministry’s plan to hire unemployed Bahraini doctors in line with the Premier’s directive.
