Riyadh –  Almarai Company’s CEO, Majed Nofal, said that the company needs to accelerate its growth plans and optimise operations leveraging smart technologies in an attempt to meet the growing food and beverages demand in the Middle East region.

Almarai has launched a new phase of the digital transformation programme in cooperation with SAP, in a bid to support food self-sufficiency in Saudi Arabia and in countries where it operates, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The Saudi food company has found SAP’s real-time technologies able to optimise production resources, reduce waste during manufacturing processes, and simplify operational procedures, Nofal remarked.

Almarai has extended its two-decades partnership with SAP to use the SAP S/4HANA smart suite in real-time analyses for business data across all of the group’s units.
