Egypt is carrying out the alternative central axis for Aswan High Dam at a total cost of EGP 1.6 billion, according to a September 20thstatement.

The development is expected to be completed by the end of 2021, Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir announced.

The Arab Contractors Company said last July that it had been executing the alternative axis, which aims to accommodate the traffic between East and West Nile.

Aswan project will link the extension of the Aswan-Bernis Road with the Western Desert Road Cairo-Aswan.

The axis extends over 5.4 kilometers, while its width reaches 29 meters with 3 lanes in each direction.
