UAE – Mubasher: Ducab Group, one of the UAE's largest provider of copper and aluminium, has named Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Mutawa as its new group CEO, effective 1 January 2021.

Al Mutawa, who joined Ducab in 2015, has succeeded Andrew Shaw as group CEO, who headed Ducab for the past 13 years, according to a press release on Thursday.

Al Mutawa has most recently occupied the position of CEO in Ducab Cable Business.

The appointment of Ducab's first Emirati group CEO is in line with the company's UAE National development programme, under which UAE nationals have represented around two-thirds of the senior management positions.

The Chairman of Ducab, Ahmad Bin Hassan Al Sheikh, commented: "This transition is evidence of Ducab’s commitment to the sustainable growth of the business and the UAE economy, paving the way towards a bright future upon the strong foundation of successes established under Andrew’s leadership."

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chairman of Ducab, Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, said: "As the new Group CEO, I look forward to Mohammed A. Al Mutawa continuing to work with all our stakeholders to grow Ducab, taking more ‘Made in UAE’ products to the world, and developing local talent within the sector."
