Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) on Wednesday said that the Presidential Directive announced in the last week of April in response to COVID-19 will end on July 31.

The directive enables companies in the DIFC to have the flexibility to use emergency measures to deal with business conditions arising due to the pandemic.

It helps DIFC employers to take the following measures without the consent of their employees during the emergency period from April 21 to July 31: reduced working hours, paid or unpaid leave, reduced salary, restrict workplace access and impose remote working.

DIFC said in a statement that it won’t be extending the Presidential Directive beyond the emergency period following consultation with government partners and the legal community.
