DOHA: Qatar Airways (QA) and Royal Air Maroc will strengthen business partnership with the launch of new code-share routes across the latter's West African network and on both airlines' routes between Qatar and Morocco from today.

The new agreement comes shortly after Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive, QA Group and Driss Benhima, Chairman and CEO, Royal Air Maroc,  signed a business agreement at the recent Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, in the presence of international press and travel trade partners.

The joint business deal benefits passengers by providing enhanced links between Qatar and Morocco, greater choice of flights and improved frequent flyer benefits.

The new code-share partnership will allow passengers to purchase a single itinerary combining flights on both carriers' global networks, affording them the ease of one-stop ticketing and baggage check-in from today.

Al Baker, said: "The code-share agreement is great news for our business and leisure passengers who frequently travel on QA, as they will be able to connect seamlessly onwards to almost 20 destinations across the West African region. QA looks forward to welcoming Royal Air Maroc's passengers and sharing our award-winning service and hospitality."

Passengers to Casablanca on QA will be able to connect onto West African cities of Cotonou, Ouagadougou, Praia, Brazzaville, Pointe Noire, Abidjan, Libreville, Banjul, Conakry, Bissau, Monrovia, Bamako, Niamey, Lagos, Nouakchott, Freetown and Lomé. Within Morocco, passengers will be able to travel to Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Guelmime, Tan Tan, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, Fes, Errachidia, Oujda, Nador, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Laayounte, Dakhla and Beni Mellal. Royal Air Maroc starts three weekly flights with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Doha on September 9, complimenting QA's daily flights to Casablanca with Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
