Muscat: Oman Ship Management Company (OSMC), the operating arm of Oman Shipping Company, announced its technical management of its 2012 built VLCC 'Habrut' on June 29, 2015 in Oman.
The ship is a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), which is 333 meters long, 60 meters wide and has a cargo capacity of 319,000 tonnes (DWT). Habrut is the 28th vessel that inducted into OSC's in-house ship management in the last 18 months.
It is considered a tremendous step for OSC, where the DWT of the in-house managed fleet has gone up from 72,000 tonnes to 4.4 million tonnes, ranging from 7 technically managed vessels in 2011 to the present 28 vessels.
