DUBAI - Dubai Police has officially launched the 'Drones Advanced Training Programme' for its employees at the Dubai Police's Officers Club, which will continue until 16th September, 2021.

The training programme, organised by the General Department of Operations in cooperation with the General Department for Training, was inaugurated by Major General Kamel Butti Al Suwaidi, Director of the General Department of Operations at Dubai Police.

The month-long programme, which comes as per the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, witnessed the presence of Brigadier Badran Al Shamsi, Director of the General Department for Training; Brigadier Nabil Abdullah, Deputy Director of the General Department of Operations; Colonel Abdullah Al-Mulla, Acting Deputy Director-General for Communications and Technology Affairs at Dubai Police, and a number of officers and employees.

Major General Al Suwaidi said that the 'Drones Advanced Training Programme' comes within the framework of achieving the strategic plan of the Dubai Police through utilising the latest smart technologies and artificial intelligence programmes of Drones in the field of promoting safety and security, rapid response to emergency reports and calls, as well as facilitating other field policing tasks.

He indicated that the programme reflects the constant readiness of the Dubai Police General Command to raise the level of preparedness of its cadres to implement best practices and smart technologies during Expo 2020 Dubai.

The 'Drones Advanced Training Programme', which consists of both theoretical and practical parts, will discuss international laws and regulations for the use of drones, three-dimensional geographical maps, night flying mechanisms of drones, the use of drones in search and rescue, securing events, as well as flying in indoors areas.
