Cairo, Egypt – The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo is pleased to announce Joe Ghayad as the new General Manager for its iconic property. Ghayad brings global experience to his new role and will oversee the entire operations of the hotel.
 
Prior to joining The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo, Ghayad was the General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty, the first luxury hotel in Kazakhstan. Under his phenomenal leadership, the property was amongst the leading hotels in Europe for ‘Guest and Employee Engagement’, and also continued to win several awards for consecutive years for Europe.
 
Ghayad is an alumnus of the Club Med Resorts in the Caribbean, Bahamas and Mexico, where he specialized in heart of house operations prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Joining The Ritz-Carlton in 1999, he held several operations roles in The Ritz-Carlton, Montreal, Canada; The Ritz Carlton, Doha, Qatar, and The Ritz Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh, Sharq Village and Spa, a luxury beach front hotel managed by Ritz-Carlton in Doha. His role as the Executive Assistant Manager at Sharq Village Spa, Doha, paved the way for his promotion to Hotel Manager in Sharq Village, where he also officiated as acting General Manager. During Ghayad’s time as the Hotel Manager, the property not only saw excellent employee engagement scores, but also impressive guest engagement metrics.

Ghayad graduated from Université du Québec in Montréal, Canada where he specialized in Hotel Management followed by an Executive MBA from HEC in Paris. Ghayad is fluent in English, French and Arabic and enjoys scuba diving, skiing and world travel.
