DUBAI  - Saudi Aramco has appointed Ashraf Ghazzawi as a new vice president of treasury effective June 1, an industry source said.

Ghazzawi will replace Motassim al-Maashouq, a company veteran who has held his post as treasurer for years and was heavily involved in the initial public offering (IPO) of Aramco. Masshouq will retire in June, the source said.

The national oil giant went public last year, selling about a 1.7% stake on the Saudi stock exchange.

Aramco did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
