Invest in Pakistan highlighted in International Economic Diwaniyah

Benefits of investing in Pakistan include strategic location, growing economy, investor friendly policy
 

Faisal Tahir Khan, an entrepreneur and consultant, under the aegis of Pakistan Consulate Jeddah and Board of Investment, Government of Pakistan gave a detailed presentation on “Invest in Pakistan”, which was the main theme at the 2nd International Economic Diwaniyah organized by Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and industries (JCCI) in cooperation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Honorary Consuls Council committee at Dr. Abdullah Dahlan press center recently.

Khan shared with audience the benefits of investing in Pakistan by highlighting Pakistan strategic location, growing economy, investor friendly policy and the snowball effect on Pakistan of China Pakistan economic corridor (CPEC).

Khan also shared CPEC vision and its mission along with its benefit to the whole region. He shed light on few key areas of investment such as food sector, tourism sector, oil and gas, marble and gems, power, infrastructure and agricultural based industries.

Khan proposed few projects to investors for Pakistan such as food, halal meat processing plant, dairy/cheese plant, pulp factory, tourism, setting up 4* and 5 * hotels in main cities, hill resorts, motels on CPEC route and commercial airline, agriculture: Corporate farming, fish farm, developing cold storage and warehouses and cultivating organic food, oil and gas: petrochemical plant and refinery, oil storage, LNG terminal/import, metals and marble: gold, coal, marble, granite mining and refining plants, infrastructure and power: building power plants, motorways on BOT basis and water distillation plant.

Khan added, ”Saudi Arabia and Pakistan has great historical relation based on trust, confidence and brotherhood. Pakistani nation is humbled and delighted to contribute in the development of Saudi Arabia in last 70 years in the field of medicine, engineering, construction and so forth.”

He also said “the people of Pakistan look forward to the upcoming visit of the Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to Pakistan, that will further cement the long lasting brotherly and friendly ties and will enhance cooperation and collaboration in trade, investment and joint projects of mutual interest.”

“This will be a new era of strategic ties,” he added.

Earlier, Mazin Batterjee, deputy chairman of JCCI welcomed all guests and praised the efforts of the organizers in staging such an instructive event. He said that this Diwaniyah will be a great opportunity to exchange information about trade and investment for businessmen and representatives of the commercial section of 60 consulates in Jeddah.

Gen. (r) Dr. Mohammad Al-Juhani, chairman of the organizing committee for Diwaniyah, thanked all and asked the participants to support this Diwaniyah to continue to achieve its objectives and the goals of the Kingdom under Vision 2030.

Dr Mustafa Sabban gave in-depth presentation on Islamic development Bank and they presented about role of ISDB in the development of private sector.

More than 150 consuls general, honorary consuls, trade attachés, businessmen and businesswomen were present at the center.
