Leading regional and international experts, decision-makers and pioneers will review potential investment prospects available in Saudi Arabia at the 16th edition of the Saudi Plastics and Petrochemicals 2019 Exhibition, to be held next month.

The event, organised by Riyadh Exhibitions Company, will take place from January 27 to 30.

The four-day event is being held under the diamond sponsorship of Sabic. Also, Saudi Arabia currently possesses 67 per cent of the total GCC petrochemical production share.

Alongside this event, hosted by the ‘Jeddah Center Forums and Events’, the 16th International Trade Exhibition for Printing & Packaging Technologies will also be held, which provides the ideal platform for the latest technologies, services and products related to packaging and printing, with the participation of the leading companies seeking to build a strong presence within the Saudi market, said a statement.

The Saudi Plastics and Petrochemicals Exhibition is the largest gathering of industry leaders at the regional level, providing a key gateway to access opportunities within the Saudi market in the context of continued government support to provide incentives aimed at establishing a strong base for petrochemical and related industries, it said.

It also highlights the sector’s contribution to economic diversification in the kingdom. The expo will showcase the latest innovations, technologies and equipment in packaging consumer goods, the latest design and manufacturing equipment, as well as paper production and food packaging technologies, it added.

Mohammad Al Al-Sheikh, head of marketing, Riyadh Exhibition Company, said: “The expo stands out a strategic platform to introduce the international investment community to the prospects and opportunities available within the Saudi petrochemicals and plastics sector, in conjunction with the growth of petrochemical exports, which represents more than two-thirds of the total industrial exports of the kingdom.”

“It is expected that the local plastic market will grow by 3.2 per cent annually by 2020,” he added.

He also pointed out that the Saudi Print and Pack Exhibition will allow the world's largest companies to break into the printing and packaging technology market, which is growing in the kingdom, having been identified as a chief driver of economic diversification, in line with the objectives of the ‘National Transformation Program 2020’ and ‘Saudi Vision 2030’.

Al Al-Sheikh added: “The upcoming Saudi Plastic and Petrochemicals Exhibition and the Saudi Print and Pack Exhibition will build on the success of the previous editions with greater participation from local and international companies, which reflects the growing confidence in the Kingdom’s plastics and petrochemicals industries, as well as the global focus on printing and packaging technologies in the kingdom.”

“We look forward to these two events and invite visitors to be a part of the latest developments in these two sectors, which drive sustainable growth in the country,” he added.

Saudi Plastics and Petrochemicals Exhibition 2019 is expected to attract significant attendance following the success of the 2018 edition of the event, which saw the participation of more than 520 exhibitors from 25 countries and 10 international pavilions, attracting over 16,000 visitors, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
