Ras Al Khaimah – UAE: Mohamed Ali Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry received H.E. Jorge Daccarett, Ambassador of Chile to the UAE and His accompanying delegation, who affirmed that the UAE in general and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in particular have all the competitive facilities that attract Chilean and foreign direct investments particularly in advanced technology, renewable energy and tourism. He confirmed that his country is keen provide all its expertise in the fields of agriculture, medicine and artificial intelligence. He praised the emirate’s attention to the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which forms key pillars of the economy, with the employment opportunities they offer, and enhancing the economic sector flexibility to restore paths of sustainable growth he added that the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has an advanced integrated infrastructure, providing logistical benefits to investors, and helps to attract entrepreneurs and major investors. 

The meeting was attended by Yousef Ismail, Board member of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce, and Head of the Supreme Committee of Saud Bin Saqr Foundation for Youth Project Development, Arifa Al Falahi, Board Member, RAK Chamber of Commerce, Mohamed Hassan Al Sabab, Director General, RAK Chamber of Commerce.

Chairman of RAK Chamber of Commerce underscored the importance of reinforcing the 7collaboration between RAK Chamber, Saud Bin Saqr Foundation and the Chilean establishments and companies from the public and private sectors in the energy field, and reinforce the bilateral relations through sharing of best practices and global experiences. His Excellency highlighted the projects, initiatives and services launched by the Chamber to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimahto boost the sustainable development in the Emirate.

Mohamed Al Nuaimi noted the participation of RAK Chamber of Commerce in Expo 2020 Dubai, and the efforts made to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai in organizing the best edition in Expo history, as the RAK Chamber’s pavilion in Expo 2020 provides a unique experience for the visitors and participants from all over the world. He highlighted the services, innovative initiatives, simplified procedures, projects and investment opportunities offered particularly in the renewable and clean energy, tourism, solar energy and innovation, the expansion of the use of artificial intelligence, and creation of a new advanced digital platform.

He added “the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah today maintains a prestigious position globally, and is keen to continue development, encourage investment and share experiences and participate in the exhibitions held by Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Foundation for Youth Projects Development, based on keenness to support investors and businessmen, which comes at the forefront of our priorities, based on our conviction of the importance of the business environment and its impact on the production, which boost the emirate’s competitiveness at the local, regional and international levels and hence became a distinguished investment destination”.

His Excellency Jorge Daccarett, Ambassador of Chile, praised the efforts of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and the services and initiatives provided to the investors, and the business opportunities in the Emirate, which shall boost the cooperation opportunities between his country and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, he stressed that their visit to Ras Al Khaimah came after reviewing the opportunities offered by the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah such as the facilities provided to investors in all sectors, and the Emirate leadership in the industrial sector including  medical and heavy industries, cement and the tourism sector with the famous Jebel Jais Mountain. He noted that the Republic of Chile is characterized with its rapid economic growth, open investment and business environment based on the open economy, with one of the highest GDP per capita rates in South America. He noted that his country is one of the world countries with highest number of free trade agreements.

H E the  Ambassador of Chile, highlighted his country’s participation in Expo 2020, he noted that his country is keen to keep in line with the strategic sectors of the country, through focusing on three main sectors in its pavilion in Expo 2020, including food security, as it displays the  main food exports, beside the investment opportunities associated to food security such as the logistics services that support food trading; and the exhibition shall also focus on the renewable energy especially the green hydrogen, the third sector to be highlighted in the pavilion is the sustainability and innovation. He pointed out to the Expo Dubai coinciding with the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the Union of the United Arab Emirates, which represents a great beginning for a new era in the history of UAE, he affirmed the keenness of Chile to maintain a sustainable cooperation with UAE.
