Amman: - In line with ongoing efforts to expand Queen Alia International Airport’s (QAIA) airline network, Airport International Group received the inaugural Nordwind Airlines flight to the Kingdom. The Russian low-cost carrier (LCC) serves passengers traveling between Amman and Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport through weekly flights every Sunday and Wednesday.
The newly-established route was commemorated with the customary ‘water arch’ salute and a welcoming ceremony attended by representatives from Airport International Group, Jordan Tourism Board and Nordwind Airlines. The latest addition brings the total number of airlines serving QAIA to 46, divided between scheduled passenger airlines and local charter and cargo carriers. This step corresponds with Airport International Group’s goal to attract more LCCs, given their significant role in enhancing the Kingdom’s accessibility to passengers of different backgrounds and financial abilities.
