Sharjah: The Expo Centre Sharjah discussed with the Tripoli International Fair ways to enhance cooperation and develop prospects for joint work to improve the performance of the exhibitions and conferences industry in the two countries.

This came during the coordination meeting held recently at the Expo Center Sharjah between HE Saif Mohamed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, and Mr. Tahir Ahmed Al Zubik, - General manager of the Tripoli International Fair, where the two sides discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of organizing joint events and providing services and benefits for investors and exhibition visitors from both countries.

Al Midfa and Al Zubik also discussed the most important challenges facing the exhibitions and conferences sector amid the current circumstances and ways to confront them to serve the interests of all parties and enhance the contribution of this vital sector in supporting the national economy of the two countries.

Saif Al Midfa said: "The success of the UAE in hosting the mega event "Expo 2020 Dubai" and the pioneering experience of the Expo Center Sharjah in supporting this event and organizing global and regional events and conferences makes us more determined to develop the exhibition industry. This can be achieved by exchanging ideas with our counterparts in Arab countries and transferring our experiences to them to develop the exhibitions sector in their countries.

During the meeting, Al Midfa shed light on the Expo Centre's events calendar and the exhibitions it plans to hold during the coming period, in addition to the preventive and precautionary measures taken to ensure the safety of exhibitors and visitors.

For his part, Tahir Ahmed Al-Zubik commended the experience of the UAE and Expo Center Sharjah in the exhibition industry, and how it has developed over the past years.

Al-Zubik stressed the importance of holding periodic meetings between the two sides and exchanging experiences to enhance cooperation, pointing out that there is a perfect opportunity to tap into the Expo Center's expertise in developing the exhibition and conference sector in Libya.
