Cairo –  The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Fawry for Banking Technology and Electronic Payments signed a cooperation agreement to facilitate shopping and ease customers' buying experience through 43,000 Fawry devices.

Under the agreement, NBE will steadily bolster its strategic plans to realize financial inclusion goals while offering unique banking services, with a focus on expanding in digital solutions to cope with the global trend of reducing dependence on cash, retail risk group head at NBE, Karim Soos, said in a statement on Wednesday.

Moreover, the new partnership is part of Fawry’s collaboration framework with Egyptian banks to ease the payment process, in line with the country’s plans to activate the governance of the digital transformation, Fawry’s managing director, Mohamed Okasha, revealed.

Okasha further noted that Fawry maintains collaboration with local banks to offer a full range of services, including bill payment, mobile wallet systems, alongside microfinance and agent banking service, among others.
