EFG Hermes said on Tuesday it has appointed Moustafa El Chiati as its chief executive for the United Arab Emirates.

EFG said in a statement the appointment is part of a series of “strategic moves” to “set in place the foundation of growth over the next five years.”

El Chiati was serving in EFG Hermes’ Investment Banking Division prior to the appointment as CEO of UAE Operations. El Chiati recently led the initial public offering of the Arabian Food Industries Company (Domty) and Edita Food Industries on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, the statement said.
