Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) will recruit candidates on the spot during the 18th edition of Careers 2018.

The three-day event which was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre aims to present Emirati graduates and job seekers with job opportunities in the private and public sector in UAE.

DHA conducted over 100 interviews during career fairs in 2017 and recruited over 30 candidates.

This year at Careers 2018, DHA has collaborated with LinkedIn to provide candidates with career counseling, tips to write CV, best tips for an interview etc.

HE Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the DHA, said: “In line with our strategy to support and promote national development, we will provide the youth with employment opportunities and a strong career path that includes training opportunities and incentives to further develop their skills as well as positively contribute to the health sector in the Emirate.”

Amna Al Suwaidi, Director of Human Resources at the DHA, said: “DHA is keen to recruit Emiratis and provide them with a meaningful career path in line with our strategy to support national development. This year, we received job applications from different healthcare fields such as medical, nursing, paramedical, and administration. We are conducting interviews during the career fair and we will recruit candidates’ on the spot. Moreover, there is a LinkedIn booth at our stand, where the youth can come and seek guidance on how to write a CV, take part in interviews etc.”

Al Suwaidi said that the DHA offers Emiratis graduates educational and training opportunities, within the country and abroad, so that they can pursue higher medical qualifications and serve the medical needs of the Emirate.

Al Suwaidi highlighted this is beneficial for employee retention and development and helps ensure a constant stream of highly specialized medical professionals in the health sector in Dubai.

The authority pays special emphasis on providing employees with a positive work environment and promotes innovation and creativity at work.

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) was created, in June 2007, by Law 13 issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, with an expanded vision to include strategic oversight for the complete health sector in Dubai and enhance private sector engagement. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance is the President of the Dubai Health Authority and His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority.

The DHA’s aim in Dubai is to provide an accessible, effective and integrated healthcare system, protect public health and improve the quality of life within the Emirate. In addition to overseeing the health sector for the Emirate of Dubai, the DHA also focuses on providing services through DHA healthcare facilities including hospitals (Latifa, Dubai, Rashid and Hatta), specialty centres (e.g. the Dubai Diabetes Center) and DHA primary health centres spread throughout the Emirate of Dubai.

The main pillars of service delivery at DHA health facilities are quality, efficiency, patients and staff.  It is our aim to maintain and improve the quality and efficiency of DHA health services. An important aspect of the service delivery strategy is to focus on patients, their needs and satisfaction as well as attract, retain, nurture and support outstanding staff.

Prior to the establishment of the DHA, the Department of Health and Medical Services (DOHMS), which was established in 1973, was the functioning authority that almost exclusively focused on health service delivery.
