MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, has launched another new feature in its Mobile Banking application and Internet Banking for the benefit of its customers in line with its vision ‘To serve you better, everyday’ and commitment to innovation reflecting the latest technological trends. Customers can now easily apply for a Bank Muscat Prepaid card by logging into Internet Banking or the Mobile Banking application on their smartphones.

The bank will receive and process the application, and customers can pick up their personalised Prepaid card later from their chosen delivery branch. The latest feature is a new addition to several other features, which were added in the recent past, including availability of QR code payments through mBanking and BM Wallet, Speed Transfer service to Egypt, bill payments to Awasr and instant Debit Card linkage to one's account through Internet banking and mBanking app and visibility of linked Floosi and Children’s accounts within parents’ accounts.

Speaking about the addition of new features in Internet Banking and the mBanking app, Amjad Iqbal al Lawati, Assistant General Manager - Cards and eBanking, Bank Muscat, said: “As the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, the bank has been continuously implementing state-of-the-art technology and we are happy to launch this new service which once again enhances ease of banking and customer convenience. The new application process continues the bank’s customer-centric strategy of launching new services and products that improves financial inclusion and offers new, convenient and highly secure e-payment options for the benefit of our valued customers.”

The bank added that its contactless “Just Tap” debit, credit and prepaid cards as well as its contactless wearables have become very popular as they allow customers to complete their low-value point-of-sale (POS) transactions at groceries and supermarkets with a simple tap of the POS terminal without the need to enter their personal identification number (PIN) for transactions up to RO 40. Customers can conduct multiple transactions totaling up to RO60 or up to 10 transactions every day using the ‘Just Tap’ feature of their card or their Shababi wearable band.
