Doha, Qatar : For the first time in Doha, four major women associations joined forces with the support of City Centre Rotana Doha, one of the leading contemporary 5-star hotels in the heart of the city, to host a networking event that saw the participation of nearly 100 women in Qatar.
Themed ‘Where Women Connect’, the social and professional event was organized by Global Women at Work with the support of How Women Work, the Doha Women’s Forum, and the Qatar Professional Women’s Network, and it reiterated City Center Rotana Doha’s commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs across various sectors in the country. The gathering took place at the Sama Lounge terrace, with mesmerizing West Bay views in the background.
“During the event, we provided women from different communities with a platform to reconnect and widen their networking opportunities. It was important to rediscover a sense of normality and to encourage women to keep chasing their dreams,” said Elsbeth Blekkenhorst-Tammes, Founder & Managing Director of Global Women At Work. “As an event for women, organized by women, there was an air of camaraderie and it was exciting to be able to get together, share experiences and empower each other.
“Attendees learnt more about the organisations in Qatar that can support them in many aspects of their lives, such as finding a job, or connecting with a mentor who can help them realize their dreams through introductions to others,” she added.
Commenting on the event, City Centre Rotana Doha’s General Manager, Martin Kendall said: “At City Centre Rotana Doha, we strive to connect people and support entrepreneurs. We were delighted to welcome this gathering of professional women to Sama Lounge and hope to continue to provide a platform for residents in Qatar to get together and network.”
