WSP in the Middle East is celebrating industry-wide gender balance and diversity with the launch of a week-long schedule of activities held under the International Women’s Day 2020 theme: ‘Each for Equal’.

As a prominent industry voice advocating equal opportunities, WSP in the Middle East is joining the global #EachforEqual movement by encouraging its employees to highlight the significant contributions that females make towards influencing greater harmony and achievement within society.

Caroline Parsons, HR Director and Director of Shared Services at WSP in the Middle East, said: “Equality is the cornerstone of our communities and vital in enabling workplaces and businesses of the future to thrive. As such, we strongly believe in the need to influence change by leading an open conversation that highlights the positive impacts of gender balance and diversity to our entire industry, not just WSP.

“By celebrating the success and tenacity of our female employees at WSP in the Middle East this International Women’s Day, we’re calling on our people to fly the flag for industry-wide equality by showcasing that gender diversity and inclusion is not a one-off initiative; it’s an organic continuation of the way we choose to work,” Parsons added.

Dean McGrail, Managing Director - Property & Buildings, and Gender Balance and Diversity Leadership Team Sponsor, at WSP in the Middle East, said: “Gender equality will only become a reality if we make it happen, which is why we are calling on all our people to celebrate the amazing women in their lives, educate themselves about their own biases, and embrace inclusion. Our people are the embodiment of the #WSPforAll drive, and we are proud to empower them to raise the bar for gender equality and diversity by making an #EachforEqual pledge.”

Throughout the week, WSP in the Middle East is inviting employees to capture themselves striking the #EachforEqual pose. The organisation will then share these #EachforEqual snaps via social media channels, along with thought-provoking quotes from its people on the topic of gender balance and diversity.

Building on this, WSP in the Middle East is committing to the #EachforEqual cause by highlighting the engineering journeys of its people through special daily editions of #engineeredOURway—a people-driven content series that showcases the company’s diverse pool of talent.

The week of activity will culminate in WSP hosting a #WSPforAll webinar at 3pm on Thursday 12th March. This will provide a collective opportunity for all employees to engage in celebrating Gender Balance & Diversity.
