Sami Khoreibi, CEO of leading solar energy firm Enviromena, has been named one of the most influential young Arabs in the Middle East. The ‘40 and under’ list, produced by Arabian Business magazine, profiles the top 40 brightest young stars across a range of industries, ranging from fashion to finance, activism and renewable energy.

Sami Khoreibi founded Enviromena in October 2007 and the company has since grown to become the largest home-grown solar company in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

UAE-based Enviromena develops, deploys and operates clean energy solutions throughout the region. With a project footprint spanning nine countries, the company has installed more than 17,000 solar systems and has the largest portfolio of solar rooftops in the region. The company has over 175 MW of projects under operation and a further 500 MW under construction.

Sami said: “I’m immensely proud of what we have achieved over the last ten years and it’s an honour to be recognised on the 40 and under list. Having a renewable energy company noted on this list at all is great testimony to the importance that solar and clean energy solutions now play in the regional energy mix.”

As a Middle East based energy entrepreneur, Sami’s key focus is developing clean, carbon neutral alternative energy projects throughout the MENA region. It’s not the first time he’s been applauded for his work, having previously featured on Arabian Business’ Top 30 Under 30 list, being named Young CEO of the Year at the 2010 CEO Middle East Awards and selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
