SHUAA Capital is pleased to announce the appointment of Soha Nashaat as Strategic Advisor to the Executive Chairman. In line with SHUAA's strategy to offer fully-integrated financial solutions, Ms Nashaat joins the company to expand SHUAA's scope of products and advisory capabilities, increase client engagement activity and ensure delivery of client-centric solutions.
Ms Nashaat joins SHUAA from Barclays Bank where she was most recently Senior Advisor and Member of the Board of Barclays Bank Suisse. She had previously established the footprint and operations for the wealth management business as CEO, Middle East for Barclays Wealth. Prior to Barclays, Ms Nashaat had a distinguished career at Merrill Lynch where she held leadership positions in New York, Buenos Aires and London, including responsibility for the offshore Middle East business for London, Geneva and Monaco as well as creating the Institutional Client Group serving small and mid-size institutions across Europe and the Middle East.

Ms Nashaat has been widely recognized as a leader in financial services and a leading business woman, including "Woman Banker of the year 2007" by Businesswomen and Leaders Achievements Awards, "Leading Business Women in the Arab World" by the Financial Times in 2007 and 2008, "Top 100 women in Finance" by Financial News (Dow Jones) and was ranked 23rd among the "100 Most Powerful Arab Women" in 2011 by Arabian Business.
Ms Nashaat will remain in the position of Board Member of Barclays Bank (Suisse). She also sits on the Board of the Foundation for Renewable Energy & Environment, a US-based non-profit organization, as well as the International Committee for Barnard College, Columbia University.

Soha Nashaat is Strategic Advisor to the Executive Chairman of SHUAA Capital. She also remains Senior Advisor and Board Member of Barclays Bank (Suisse). She has held this role since August 2011. Prior to this, Soha was CEO, Middle East for Barclays Wealth. Soha joined Barclays Wealth in October 2006, moving to Dubai from London where she was instrumental in bringing Barclays global capabilities to the region.
Since moving to Dubai, Soha started by building and expanding the Barclays Wealth business in Dubai, and brought Barclays global capabilities to the region. Soha began her career as a Product Manager at Merrill Lynch in New York in 1991. She quickly rose through the ranks, and was asked to move in 1997 to Buenos Aires, Argentina where she served as Deputy Office Manager for the "Southern Cone" which comprised of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
Her ability to lead and inspire the largest international office for Merrill Lynch led the firm to ask her to relocate once again- this time to assume leadership of the London Middle East office. She was subsequently given additional leadership responsibilities for the Monte Carlo and Geneva offices that formed the Offshore Middle East and non-resident Indian group. In addition, Soha was responsible for the creation of the Institutional Client Group covering small and mid-cap Institutions in partnership with Institutional Sales.
Soha was named "Woman Banker of the year 2007" at the 6th Middle East Businesswomen and Leaders Achievements Awards ceremony on International Women's day in May 2007. She was featured in the Financial Times list of Leading Business Women in the Arab World in 2007 and 2008, and was in the Financial News top 100 women in Finance in 2009. She also ranked 23rd in Arabian Business Magazine listing of the 100 most powerful Arab Women 2011.
